JOB SUMMARY:

The Value Stream Manager (VSM) will oversee their respective Value Stream(s) day-to-day activities. They will lead their team to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual targets/goals and provide a high level of leadership for the employees within the Value Stream to improve the engagement scores. The VSM drives profitable growth, delivers outstanding customer service, develops a technically qualified workforce, and reduces operating costs and inventories through incremental & continuous improvement projects. The focus of this role is to drive labor productivity, throughput, and customer OTD. This role will lead a production group, provide coaching, support, and direction to drive employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers application of company policies, including performance evaluations, attendance, safety, grievances, and routine working rules and regulations

  • Hires, trains, and motivates personnel as required

  • Identifies product/production problems, review production re-work and rejected part inspection reports. Assist in determining and eliminate causes

  • Identifies staffing and equipment needed to meet production requirements

  • Maintains a safe working environment for all employees

  • Schedules approved overtime following accepted practices

  • Transitions new products from engineering to production to meet new/rapid/prototype requirements

  • Works with support departments to minimize rejects and maintain optimum production flow

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicates with peers and management using respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork, and professionalism

  • Deploy 8020 principles focusing on the highest valued product and customer opportunity

  • Design & maintain the capacity model for the site to ensure adequate resources & operators to meet the needs of the customer for the short & long term

  • Developing plans to expand the workforce and equipment as needed for future growth

  • Ensures individual accountability for meeting product quality standards and production schedule commitments

  • Help operations team to execute the plan to meet the needs of the customer while improving processes and achieving the operations KPIs

  • Implement an action plan to improve the iSay survey results for the operations team

  • Lead the value stream team to develop/implement/execute the production plan

  • Manage operations team to meet the daily production needs of the customer and the OTD goal for the site

  • Partner with management on lean process projects to reduce waste and improve efficiencies

  • Promote the IDEX Values of trust, team, & excellence as behavior that encourage employees to perform their best

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing the Value Stream to include employee growth, budget planning, employment decisions related to employees, and performance assessment of team leaders and employees

  • Stand as a constant advocate for the site

  • Support RIE events and process improvements for the business

  • Utilizes the IDEX Difference (Great Teams, 8020 focus, and Customer Obsession) as a tool to create a competitive advantage

  • Work hand-in-hand with the ME/Facilities Mgr. & Quality Mgr. to drive process improvements for the site

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong manufacturing/operations background

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in a technical field)

  • Excellent computer skills required understanding of lean concepts & tools

  • Excellent people skills and strong leadership skills

  • Management experience required

  • Positive interpersonal and facilitation skills with excellent presentation

  • Written/verbal communication skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel
