Our Customer Service, Planning and Supply Chain teams align our Order Attainment, Order Acknowledgement and Order Fulfillment processes.The foundation for these processes is driven by our great people through a robust Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process (SIOP) and Plan for Every Part (PFEP), which support our projected growth while mitigating risk to our valued customers.
POSITION OVERVIEW/KEY RESPONSIBILTIES*:
The Production Plannerwill work in our Bristol facility, and will plan and schedule production orders for the site.The Production Planner will perform a variety of duties related to managing production work orders, creating work order schedules for production equipment, supporting Customer Service with shipment commitments, pro-active communication to Customer Service on potential shipment delays and ensuring order completion for specific customer orders and make-to-stock items.This position will work closely with Production, Customer Service and Purchasing.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Verifying shipment date of customer’s orders based on lead times and production schedule and notification of any deviation to that commitment.
Reviewing material shortages and planning / scheduling customer orders with engineering, purchasing and production teams.
Works together with Customer Service to prioritize production builds or shipments when necessary.
Scheduling shop machinery, in coordination with Production Leads, to ensure best utilization to meet Customer needs and desired stocking levels.
Understanding forecast types, supporting the SIOP process, planning as it relates to production and loading of forecast.
Managing MRP messages, including the auto work order override of MRP and back scheduling.
Reviewing auto-released work orders (i.e. Defer, Cancels…) and taking the appropriate action.
Responsible for participating in the New Part Add (NPA) and ECO processes.
Understanding and entering item branch fields, including product families, planner codes primary/virtual/lean.Maintaining Item Flash messages to provide accurate direction for Customer Service.
Completing BOM reviews, including stocking types, issue codes and multi-levels.
Work Order Management, including cancelations, printing, all fields (including codes for releasing late), stat codes, create/print virtual.
Supporting other Production Planners on the team, including coverage due to absences.
Running Planning/Schedule Reports.
May include assisting Customer Service with helping customers needing basic technical support.More technical inquiries to the Technical Support Specialist or Product Management by Customer Service.
Recommends and provides feedback for improvements to policies and procedures.
Coordinates delivery dates for prototypes with Engineering to ensure timely order acknowledgement.
Works with other departments including Engineering, Product Management, Accounting, Purchasing, Planning, Manufacturing and Stockroom personnel to coordinate Customer ship
Instrumental in increasing department/company efficiencies by participating in continuous improvement activities.
Maintains technical competence through attendance of training programs and reading current articles and company correspondence.
Maintains up-to-date documentation of processes related to job duties as applicable.
Other duties as assigned.
Associate’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Familiarity with manufacturing environment.
Two years of experience in product planning and scheduling.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required, as well as basic math proficiency.
Three years of MRP experience.
Solid organizational skills.
Experience using advanced tools Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to handle customers with professionalism; able to maintain composure and professional approach.
Capable of focusing on details with regardto products and problems over extended period of time.
Bachelor’s Degree inBusiness, Supply Chain, Manufacturing
OEM experience preferred.
Experience using JD Edwards MRP software.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- General office environment and frequent visits to the production floor.
