This position will help drive product and process quality at Advanced Thin Films through Continuous Improvement and Quality leadership for internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop quality roadmap in alignment with business goals and objectives
Initiate, facilitate, and lead cross functional teams for structured problem solving and improvement projects utilizing various quality tools including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Ensure improvement effort follow through documentation and communication of best practices and lessons learned
Identify and drive actions to reduce waste and improve product flow and quality
Lead, develop and coach team to drive sustained improvements in quality and lean principles
Objectively review and qualify product or process data using statistical techniques
Lead quality planning for development projects or changed processes to ensure risks and opportunities are addressed prior to moving to scaled production
Support ongoing quality systems needs surrounding nonconforming material, document change requests, CAPA system, Supplier Corrective action system, training, audits, and RMA system
Monitor in-process and final testing and inspection activities. Track and adjust quality control checks of critical processes in production using charts, statistical data, and reports to ensure customers’ requirements are fulfilled
Lead maintenance of ISO registration through participation in periodic surveillance and certification audits, and the internal audit program
Mentor, and champion activities to continue quality culture within organization
Lead quality system training requirements of personnel: provide classroom-type and on-the-job training when needed, and maintain training records
Support returned Goods program from receipt of the returns to closure. Facilitate inspections, containment activities, investigations, dispositions, and communication with the customers
Support Nonconformance Reporting program including investigations, disposition, and action plan development by partnering with production and engineering teams
Other quality functions as determined necessary by business or customer or customer need
Maintains and continues to develop professional and technical knowledge by participating in training, seminars, and benchmarking best practices
Develop, train and audit on best practices to ensure employee performance and development
Drives cross functional leadership to ensure quality priorities and objectives are met
Desired Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
Degree from an accredited institution in a related field, or equivalent related on the job education and experience
The person must have or be willing to gain working knowledge of quality management systems, ISO 9001 requirements, Lean Principles, Six Sigma and proficient knowledge of statistics
Familiarity with Aerospace and automotive manufacturing and systems
Related certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt are preferred
The ability to adapt to work effectively in an environment of change, uncertainty, and ambiguity
Deep understanding and application of problem solving tools for root cause and corrective action
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience in Engineered to Order (ETO) manufacturing industry
Demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean principles
Strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, processes, and accepted good manufacturing practices
This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.
Salary Range: $110 - 120k annually
Bonus: This position is eligible for company discretionary bonus
