Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidate will be expected to possess and continually develop a broad spectrum of skills. The candidate will primarily focus on manufacturing orders but will also work closely with engineering and will have a direct say in process development and continuous improvement decisions. Technicians should be self-motivated and will be required to work unsupervised at times. Job functions performed will be inclusive of the following:
High precision optics metrology (interferometry, spectral scans, optical part characterization)
Cleaning, handling and assembly of optical and opto-electronic components
Optical assembly with adhesives
Vacuum coating chamber loading, operation and maintenance
Tooling cleaning and assembly
Cleaning and visual inspection of optical components.
Proper handling and packaging of critical and fragile optical components.
Inventory management of consumables for clean room, manufacturing, and chemical supplies.
Procedure enforcement, maintenance, and cleaning of fabrication and clean room areas.
Documentation and procedure development of manufacturing processes.
Any other duties as assigned by the manager or his/her designate
The candidate is expected to actively participate in establishing manufacturing procedures.
Education / Experience:
Familiar with clean room and ESD safe environments constraints
Cleaning and inspecting optical components
Proficiency in basic computer use (Word, Excel) and communication tools (e-mail)
A former exposure to ISO 9000 or quality assurance systems and manufacturing tracking solutions
Knowledge of CNC programming and/or numerically controlled machine tools
This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.
Reporting and Location:
This position is based in Boulder, Colorado and reports to the Value Stream Manager.
Pay Range: $20 - 25/hour
Bonus: This position is eligible for company discretionary bonus
