Scope of Role: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales growth of a Midwestern group of regional distributor partners and direct accounts. He/She will have full accountability and responsibility for managing approximately (7) distributors and 10-12 key OEM direct accounts. This position will be charged with the growth at these distributors and key direct accounts to support the Reciprocating & Rotary business lines within the Gast enterprise. Input and strong communication with Business Line Directors will be key to success.

The position requires up to 60% overnight travel (Midwestern US).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Aggressively grow territory sales through interaction with distributor account representatives and direct OEM engagement.

  • Develop effective working relationship with distributor company principles and sales teams.

  • Support day to day execution of enterprise initiatives and commercial programs of the Reciprocating & Rotary Business Line.

  • Provide accurate and timely communications to internal and external constituents, orders forecast, new business opportunities, pricing, technical application details, etc.

  • Define changing market conditions and competitive issues. Identify market needs and opportunities, creating a sustainable competitive advantage.

Measures of Performance

  • Profitable growth of the territory through engagement at the end customer level

  • Sustainability of existing Gast business

  • Management of key projects as part of a cross-functional team

  • Focus and drive key initiatives of the organization and the business line

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or Technical field strongly preferred.

  • At least seven (7) years equivalent work experience with five (5) years proven professional sales and/or account management experience.

  • Strong experience with distributors and experience with sales channel management

  • Proven track record of delivering sales results while maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Pneumatic industry experience preferred

  • Strong personal leadership and experience working in manufacturing environment

  • Project management experience

  • Market assessment and basic marketing process experiences

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to engage and motivate the sales teams of a 3rd-party distribution channel team to grow Gast orders and sales.

  • Ability to manage priorities as articulated by direct manager and/or senior leadership.

  • Must have ability to build relationships with direct accounts for repeat business and new product development engagement.

  • Must have high degree of leadership and ability to influence cross-functionally.

  • Must be self-motivated, show initiative, anticipate and prevent issues by executing advanced problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and work well in a team environment.

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work well with customers and internal team members to lead positive change in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement.
