The Supply Chain Supervisor is a player and coach role responsible for supervision of a team of four buyer/planners as well supporting production planning and purchasing. Responsibilities include:
On-time deliveries of components to support work orders
Managing inventory levels using Inventory Optimization Network
Ensuring material availability for all demand
Developing and maintaining an international supplier base that will meet the company’s needs in terms of quality, price, delivery, and lead time
Providing leadership support to the team
Identifying process improvements
Driving efficiency metrics, and maintaining team compliance with critical Supply Chain standard operating procedures
Supports a supplier base with the technical and business capabilities to support the company’s dynamic and growing requirements
Drives High level of engagement amongst the Supply Chain team
Communicates component specifications and delivery schedules to suppliers
Monitors adherence to schedules and acts to resolve issues
Works with Quality Assurance and Engineering to ensure communication of specification and documentation requirements to suppliers
Monitors status of open purchase orders and ensures timely resolution and communication of potential problems
Works with Quality Assurance to resolve discrepant material issues
Monitors, maintains, and communicates supplier performance criteria
Handles all correspondence and communications concerning requests for quotations and purchase of all required production and supply items
Performs the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) & Material Requirement Planning (MRP) for the assembly and component demands generated by the planning system
Generates various production reports and reviews to monitor the delivery status of open work orders and purchase orders to communicate with the Sales regarding orders with possible delay
Performs inventory analysis
Designs and institutes the necessary procedural controls for planning, controlling, and maintaining accuracy of inventory
Assists Sales with finding substitute parts in stock for items as-needed
Maintains planning system with all purchasing and planning data
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum - Associates degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)
Minimum of 3 years planning and/or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years using computerized material planning system
Minimum of 1 year of supervisor or equivalent leadership experience
Proficient Excel Skills (experience with v-lookup & pivot tables preferred)
Excellent organization skills, able to work under pressure and to tight timescales
Demonstrate and practice a detail-oriented approach to work
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
Communicate effectively, relating instructions and information clearly
Work well with others and across departments
Strong Problem-solving skills
Ability to learn quickly

Operate computerized equipment and transcribe
Demonstrate upper body mobility to operate computer system
Bend as is necessary for sitting, typing (and/or using a computer mouse
Manipulate papers into envelopes; type, operate computer mouse, and grasp
Physical Classification:
Sedentary Work: The ability to lift up to ten pounds occasionally and up to five pounds frequently. Although a sedentary job is defined as one that involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
