As the Site Leader at CVI Laser Optics, you will be tasked with building a world-class team to help accelerate growth with our OEM customers that heavily utilize optical components & optical sub-assemblies. Our customers are industry leaders in a variety of markets including, but not exclusive to, semiconductor, defense, laser machining, & additive manufacturing. You will be leveraging the broader IDEX Scientific & Fluidics & Optics’ manufacturing capabilities, processes & people to enable you to collaborate with our customers’ engineers in creating manufacturable designs for volume production in addition to collaborating with senior leadership to define our technology roadmap & investments to serve our customer’s needs.


Responsible for the critical to customer objectives & to meet or exceed key performance targets of the Company along with the Company's adherence to all Federal & State mandates while upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of my employment with the Company & to personally abide by the IDEX Standards of Conduct & Business Ethics Policy. Primary, this leader will report to the GM, IDEX Optical Technologies Inc., but will also have dual reporting relationship to the respective functional Segments: Finance, HR, Sales & RD&E


This position will successfully guide & stimulate the operations, profitability & growth of the Company in concert with the objectives set forth by the GM, IDEX Optical Technologies, & to provide day-to-day leadership of the CVI Business Unit. The below areas will encapsulate the chief emphasis of the Site Leader’s central role.

1. Developing & executing a strategy for top line, sustainable & profitable growth & market diversification.

2. Implementing solid operating discipline throughout the organization, not just the shop floor

  • Commercial processes improvement within a growth opportunity funnel

  • From acquiring the order, to the post-sale support

  • Including channel development/management

  • Supply chain process development: supplier management, DMI, Quality, & Delivery

  • Manufacturing excellence: Lead Time, OTD, Quality, Efficiency, & Lean Deployment

3. Getting the right talent on board & getting them in the right seats to drive the strategy & operating discipline


Leadership, Talent & Team Development—

Order Attainment & Sales Leadership—

  • Oversee sales forecasts & tactical plans required to achieve or surpass forecasted results

  • Works with process owners to ensure that KPIs are collected to monitor progress

  • Visits distribution & OEM partners to monitor execution of commercial strategy & attends trade shows

Order Fulfillment

  • Applies lean tools to the order to cash cycle to deliverworld classexecution that exceeds customer expectations

  • Deliver year-over-year productivity through supply chain & factory-floor continuous improvement activities

  • Deploy a “zero-tolerance” mindset & operating methodology to ensure compliance to all EH&S standards

  • Works with process owners to ensure that KPI’s are collected to monitor progress

  • Guides site production to ensure that processes are documented in accordance with ISO requirements

Service & Aftermarket

  • Takes personal responsibility for delivering outstanding customer service

  • Develops strategic & tactical plans in pursuit of growth & profit objectives

  • Helps to prioritize new product opportunities & recommends development plans

  • Works with process owners to ensure that KPI’s are collected to monitor progress to ensure service & aftermarket processes are appropriately integrated

  • Evaluates & directs appropriate actions on customer complaints & warranty issues within the Service process

  • Has the authority to stop shipments for non-compliance to regulatory standards or deviations to customer requirements

Strategic Development

  • Identifies new business opportunities.

  • Develops strategic & tactical plans in pursuit of growth & profit objectives

  • Guides the prioritization of new product opportunities & recommends development plans

  • Works with process owners to ensure that the KPIs are collected to monitor progress

  • Enables legal compliance, accounting controls, financial planning & forecasting, human resource review, as well as with employee communications
