Summary: Trebor International is offering an exciting opportunity to join an organization that is innovative, growth-oriented and also benefits from a multi-billion dollar parent corporation.Trebor International manufactures high purity pumps and heaters for fluid handling systems primarily used in the semiconductor market.The Sustaining Engineering & Quality Manager will be a key member of the senior leadership team and report directly to the General Manager. In addition to leading the engineering and quality teams, the successful candidate will collaborate directly with other senior staff members and functional areas including operations, supply chain, marketing, product management and technical support. Primary focus area will be to continuously improve the quality, reliability, and usability of existing products, as well as create capability to effectively support and grow the business.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of Applications Engineering, Technical Support, Quality, and Rework areas of the business.

  • Directly manage and develop a team of quality professionals dedicated to maintaining and supporting an ISO 9001-2015 manufacturing facility.

  • Sustain all released products and manage product design changes for the entire product life cycle (from launch through obsolescence). Assign resources to sustaining engineering projects, and develop a system to evaluate the priority of sustaining projects and initiatives.

  • Manage and develop the skill sets to ensure that business objectives are met. Regularly review staff proficiency, plan development needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training.

  • Coach and develop team members to build strength on the bench and create developmental opportunities for team members.

  • Provide direct customer support related to supporting product selection and applications specific technical questions in the field.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage Engineering Change Control and Document Control processes.

  • Provide escalation management, reporting and assistance on customer complaints.

  • Effectively develop processes for incoming inspection (NIR), first article (FAI), and incorporate quality at the source into manufacturing standards.

  • Work closely with supply chain to maintain quality standards and effectively improve relationships to enable continuous improvement projects.

  • Drive continuous improvement for the processes and tools used by the Current Product Engineering Group.

  • Drive effective root cause and corrective action (RCA) for product related issues.

  • Develop strong personal relationships with customers, and play a key role in providing VOC that will influence engineering strategy and priorities.

  • Work actively with the NPD Engineering group to ensure efficient and timely introduction of new products into production.

Qualifications:

Education and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or related field is required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor plus an additional 3 years leading applications engineering, technical support, or quality is required.

  • Demonstrated experience leading an engineering team in a manufacturing/production environment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of design control and change management methodology.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at a time is required.

  • Six sigma certification is strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of 8020 principles is desired.
