Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will perform general accounting duties related to

writing and posting journal entries, maintain the trial balance, reconcile

accounts, maintain fixed asset tracking system, and sales tax preparation.

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries

  • Perform monthly intercompany AR / AP reconciliations

  • Fixed asset accounting

  • Prepare assigned monthly, quarterly and yearly schedules

  • Assist in physical inventory planning, preparation and reconciliation

  • Assist in the annual audit of the company’s records

  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations in compliance withIDEX policies

  • Monthly external commission accrual and payments

  • Ensure compliance with all US state sales and use taxes

  • Review credit card expenditures to ensure compliant with IDEX policies

  • Provide backup to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payrollfunctions as needed

  • Other duties, as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business/Accounting

  • Currently working towards an accounting designation (CGA or CMA)

  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferablyin a manufacturing environment

  • Standard costing experience is an asset

Language Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all levels in theorganization and with external sales representatives, customers, vendors,and others as required

Computer Skills:

  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft office products especially expertlevel proficiency in Excel functions

  • Good working knowledge of an ERP system (Visual Manufacturing)

  • None required
