The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) manages the sales and relationship activities from the designated account(s) and potential new accounts; generates and follows up on new, significant lead closure, educates customers on the company's product lines; manages key accounts in all aspects - services customers, coordinate technical assistance/resources, and provide input to leadership on competition. Success for this role is dependent on the SAM possessing a strong knowledge of Value Selling the tangible and intangible product attributes, the company services & support, and the Aegis's continuous improvement activities.
Also monitors the progress on key projects and ensures the communication and subsequent actions are taking place between the customers and the relevant functional area(s) internally. Coordinates technical meetings, business meetings and sales meetings, both in-person and via telephone, web or video conference as required to further the business relationship.
Regularly visit and manage assigned accounts and create/execute meeting plans for targeted accounts
Manage key customer issues while maintaining profitability and generating new business from existing accounts.
Key influencer in the specification of Aegis products within all parts of the decision making process
Submit work for quotation to Inside Sales Group.
Set-up and maintain customer files and ensure that there are systems in place to keep the database current.
Build relationships at all levels and functions.
Review/negotiate pricing and terms, adhering to defined limits regarding margins, exposure and liability, and to maximize company profits.
Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.
Follow up on leads generated for the territory, and forward leads for other territories to designated SAM/Sales Rep.
Generate trip summaries, forecast of bookings and shipments by customer and product line and potential new business, monthly sales activity reports. Report Sales prospects, quotations activity and bookings probability. Participates in BU forecasting meetings with BU PLM/Ops/Finance as required.
Provide input on open customer issues re: Quality, Delivery, Open Quotes, Projected PO's, and NBO's.
Identify and pursue potential new business opportunities.
Follow up on past due customer invoices if required.
Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customer’s regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, and public groups.
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite products, Microsoft Outlook and sales force automation programs.

Education/Experience Requirements :
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) eight years related experience in field/technical sales and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with the key customer -BlueCube/Olinin Freeport TX and current possession of access badges who can successfully navigate through plant is required.
Experience in selling or servicing valves preferred.
Thorough understanding of Chlor/Alkali, VCM, Chlorinated Organic, HCL and Isocyanate processes as well as the associated product applications.
Working knowledge of actuator sizing for EBV’s, ABV’s and Control Valves desired
Understanding of calibration of Position Monitors, Pneumatic Positioners and Electro-pneumatic Positioners.
Familiarity with reading customer supplied iso-metric drawings and translating them to product requirements.
