The Senior Cost Analyst (SCA) maintains and monitors cost and manufacturing accounting processes for the manufacturing operations.
The SCA is responsible for the timely and accurate collection and reporting of cost related financial information and cost variance analysis.
The SCA participates in inter-departmental projects as required to support business decisions and profitability improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in the month-end close, including preparation of required journal entries and associated analysis.
Assists in preparation of month end operating review package.
Prepares mid-month and month end manufacturing variance reports.
Prepares and reviews various daily operating metrics to monitor business performance.
Analyzes and reviews bills of material to ensure accurate product costing.
Prepares actual versus budget analysis, manufacturing profit variance analysis, and actual to standard cost comparisons.
Analysis of backlog for Gross Margin and material forecasting.
Proposes improvements in Operations and Working Capital.
Organizes and leads the annual physical inventory and manages the cycle counting process as appropriate.
Organizes and runs monthly EOZ meetings with Supply Chain.
Participates in preparation of annual budget and forecast.
Expected to advise the Finance Manager immediately of any errors, irregularities or significant adjustments or journal entries as they occur.

Knowledge/Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Minimum of 1-2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively outside the accounting department
Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards
Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the business operations staff and to provide timely suggestions for cost reduction and margin improvement. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.
