Develops, implements and documents optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes, work instructions and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Assists in the design of required tooling. Evaluates design and engineering changes, determine feasibility of production, and approve release into manufacturing. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Develops, evaluates, improves and documents manufacturing methods.
Interprets engineering drawings and specifications and develops and documents work instructions to implement into manufacturing.
Establish production times, resource requirements, and related costs to provide information to aid in management decisions, such as capacity and productivity.
Defines and ensures all BOM and routing information is accurate.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient mistake proof production methods.
Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Develop and implement cost reduction processes.
Develop, implement and train manufacturing personnel in manufacturing procedures.
Establishes process/product capability and strives for continuous improvement.
Analyze data from field failures, customer returns and failures within manufacturing.Recommend and implement design or process changes to resolve root cause failures.
Determine disposition of non-conforming materials and assemblies.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, for the purpose of facilitating the manufacturing processes.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Develop Failure Mode Effect Analysis for all processes.
Generate and determine root cause and document, process/product related problems.
Designs and coordinates the manufacture or purchase of test fixtures and equipment.
Coordinates the introduction of new products from Design Engineering to Production.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident. This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements.
