SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Product Manager position will be responsible for products in Heritage Business Line, which offers a complete range of fastening solutions to different applications. This hands-on position is located in Denver, CO and will be reporting to the Business Line Director. The position will be a key input to the business’ overall direction of its products and markets served, is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, sizing market potential and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing communications and support to ensure revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction targets are met. The Product Marketing Manager’s plans will assist in generating increased profit, market share gain and overall customer satisfaction for the company. The SPM will champion and implement all new product and market strategies, whilst determining the most effective and successful approach to growing the existing portfolio.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Product Manager, your primary focus will be on providing the business the key information and guidance as it relates to the 4-P’s. This person will be a major and critical influence on the overall direction of the business. Therefore, Band-It is seeking a champion, with a winning spirit, that can provide evidence that they grasp and can excel in the following areas:

  • Development of product lines and ability to exit rationalized models - traditional product management competency (Formulate, execute, and maintain product line strategies, product plans, and product roadmaps based on market insight)

  • Strategic direction setting - Product/Segment road mapping

  • Competitive benchmarking and market share/trend analysis pricing and promotion. Develop market insight through voice of customer research, in-depth competitive analysis, and market segmentation

  • Market awareness and penetration

  • Key customer development and channel management

  • Performance metrics creation and execution

  • Manage product line revenue, margin, pricing, and investment

  • Commercial process improvements acting as a persistent catalyst for change

  • Drives 8020\complexity reduction across the product lines including product rationalizationto optimize offering and complexity and manage the product life cycle

  • Drives margin expansion for the Product Line by working with Operations\Supply Chain to drive cost reductions (PPV), Engineering to drive VA\VE projects and Commercial team on pricing

  • Full understanding and successful execution of a staged NPD Process in a manufacturing environment

  • Drives the product innovation process.

  • Works closely with Engineering Manager to identify root causes to product issues and resolve

180 DAY OBJECTIVES

It is critical for the individual hired to come into this role enthusiastic and ready to work, with clear objectives laid before them. In the first 6-months, the expectation for this candidate will be as follows:

  • Learn the business’ products, customers, and competition

  • Establish key product roadmaps and refinement of the lines for a 1, 3, and 5- year horizon

  • Project management leadership in all new product development cross functional teams

  • Key driver in commercial process improvements

  • Be a critical input to research, ideas, and compilation of the annual strategic planning process

  • Absorb day-to-day activities as it relates to the products, price and promotion

  • Complete 80/20 analysis and make recommendation for optimization

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area. MBA or MS preferred.

  • 5+ years marketing experience, with at least four of those years in product marketing management with increasing responsibility in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong experience on new product development and product management

  • Understand channel management

  • Technical understanding of equipment

  • Experience working with competitive pricing, promotions and service parts. Pricing analysis/models.

  • International experience will be considered a plus, more specifically business experience in Latin American markets

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access required

  • Integrated system product background ideal
