Utilize 8020 methodologies to manage assigned commodities and supply base.
Work alongside Sr. Commodity Managers to develop, prioritize, and execute
both short and long-term sourcing initiatives that reduce supply chain
complexity and achieve cost reduction. Conduct market studies and lead
supplier negotiations, identify and execute cost reduction projects, and
manage all other day-to-day activities for assigned supply base.
Conduct data analysis to negotiate with suppliers and optimize the supplyof products in terms of cost, inventory, and availability.
Assist in the identification of component substitutions and assist in thegoal to consolidate the supply base and transition to best-in-classsuppliers.
Identify gaps in existing Sourcing processes and make improvements asrequired. This may include new process maps, document templates, reports,etc.
For assigned commodities and suppliers, manage the Request for Proposalprocess by gathering supporting materials and prints, sending out RFPforms, and summarizing supplier responses.
Manage the new part release process from completing required forms,gathering support materials and prints, and communicating with suppliers.
Manage the Engineering Change notice form internally for the Sourcingfunction. Ensure that Engineering Change Orders are processed timely andaccurately.
Participate in and/or lead other Supply Chain-oriented projects andinitiatives as required. Leads teams when supplier quality and deliveryissues arise.
Stay abreast of current market conditions and new technologies within theirspecific supply markets to identify leverage opportunities for Gast.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
1-3 years of supply chain and/or operations experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibilities or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent reasoning and analytical skills.
Ability to anticipate and define problems, collect data, establish facts,distinguish trends, and draw valid conclusions.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication (oral and written skills). Ability to effectivelypresent information to a variety of audiences.
